Funcom Closing More Than Half of Age of Conan’s Servers

Funcom has made a list of servers that will be merging for their struggling MMO Age of Conan. The list reveals that of the 49 servers currently online, only 18 will remain.

The merging effects North American/Oceanic servers the most, going from 24 servers down to six, leaving only one player-vs-player server and two player-vs-environment servers. These servers will combine the population of six to seven servers.

12 servers will still remain in Europe, due to their need to provide server variety for four different languages.

Funcom expects to finish the merges this week. While these stats mean that the player-base is going down on the MMO, Funcom said that it will provide a better experience for existing players. Funcom still plans to provide new content for high-level players with an expansion later this year.
